2009 super crew rear springs

I have the tow package (not max) on my 09' and 3 springs with a 4th helper spring. Some other 09's I have seen have have only 3 springs. Was this an option or stock and will it increase payload and help towing. Thanks.

I have the same thing on my 10, I have 4 leafs with the regular tow package.

Did your truck have the factory 20" wheels by chance? After doing some research that is the only thing that I have dug up seeing how I had neither max tow or max payload but did have 20's. a google search tells me that 20" wheel equipped trucks used 4 leaf packs.
I see absolutely no reason for it but that's what I read.
And no it doesn't legally increase to weight rating.

Yes, the truck did have factory 20's. When I got it either the dealer or previous owner had put 18's on. You must be right on the 4 springs with 20's.
Thanks for the response
