Turning off door chime

I was trying to clean the inside of my truck out tonight and listen to the radio, but the door chime was going crazy so had to remove the keys from the ignition and work without tunes. Just wondering if anyone has or knows how to turn it off or disconnect it. I have a 2009 f150 XLT.
Thanks James

I watched it says to cut wire under steering wheel just thought there might have been a key on key off routine you could do to cancel it. Don't really want to cut any wires. I'll keep looking. Thanks

There's a whole pile of solid death metal that can drown out the door beep. Just let 'er rip and worry about the neighbours later.

In all seriousness though, isn't it just a squat switch on the door? I could be wrong and I haven't looked on my truck but on my old car, I used to just tape over the switch and it would stop.

I didn't see the switch like my old trucks have had I think it's built in somehow to the inside of the door. I'll have to pass on the heavy metal though need some haggard or jones or something country on in this truck.

Can't recall off the top of my head, but door chimes may be able to be muted via Programmable Parameters using an IDS. The next time you're in at the dealer ask the tech to have a quick look: Module Programming > Programmable Parameters > Personality (???).

I can check the next time I have an '09 on my rack. 50:50 shot you can shut it up.

^^^ and don't start cutting wires - nothing good will come of that. and the door switch is integrated into the latch.

Ok thanks. I thought it was part of the latch. I will see what the dealer says next time I'm near there. I was just going to turn the radio up instead if cut wires.
Thanks again James
