Winter is around the corner…..

Time for the Blizzak DM-V1's and Raptor wheels.

Post your winter prep tips & pics here if you like.

Love the RECON LED smoked third brake light.

Some of the local scenery, it's not summer here anymore, so unfortunately it's not bikini's and babes. lol

Yes Travis, the Blizzak's were on the Raptor, slightly smaller than the 315's , they're 285/70/17.

Punched in the numbers on one of those tire size calculator sites, and they're within 2% of the rolling diameter of the factory 18's.

Nice perk with the new ride to have a set of winter tires and wheels already in hand.

Yup Glen, Raptor running boards as well. Found out they were available from Ford, liked them better than the stock bars and got 'er done.

For anybody that's wondering, no, I'm not trying to make my new ride look like a Raptor.

Been there already. lol

I thought they looked a tad oversized, but it was so close I was 2nd guessing.

I've got the same tires on some 18" OEM chrome wheels. But I went with a 255/70-18 same outter diameter as a 275/65-18. Just narrower to help cut threw the slush at highway speeds. Won't hydro plane as easily.

You keeping this truck for a while or the usual 2yrs? undercoating is a nice way to preserve the truck from that dreaded cancer called rust.

... Anyways

Wife and I have got most of the winter prep done.
Oil changes, multi-point inspection, Undercoating.
Just need to get the winter tires on both vehicles, and replace the wipers blades.
And wash them.
Don't think I can get a hand waxing in now as I will need to clay bar them prior due to the undercoating over spay that is all over the vehicles.

I am not a big fan of black wheels but those actually look pretty good on there
