Missed the "FX4 Appearance Package" box ? lol

Didn't see the stripe package or different seats in the spec list, so I'm guessing here.

Sounds a lot like my order, minus the EB, trailer mirrors and 20" wheels…..congrats !

Swap out those mirror reflectors for the plain panels when you take delivery, that's one thing I did.

Yup got the stripe package not sure if the trailer mirror reflectors are actually swapable like the regular mirrors...I think they actually function as turn signals.

Congrats! Did you get the maintenance plan? Extended Warranty? If not I would suggest doing your oil change every 5000km instead of the suggested and use synthetic.

Off topic I know, but I'm curious as to why change the oil every 5000km if the recommended interval for warranty in the Owners Manual says 10000km+ ??

( I think it's up to 12,000km or something )

5000km oil changes are pretty old school, used to follow that schedule myself, but anymore, you're wasting cash, and oil.

I'll give you the point of using synthetic, good idea, but I've changed my ways with the dino oil, hit a compromise and will get it changed anywhere between 8500 and 10000.

Is there something about the Ecoboost that merits a changeout every 5000 km ?

PS - Extended Warranties are a cash cow for whoever is selling them, pure profit.

My last truck ('09 2wd 5.4l) the dealership said every 5-7k. I asked was ford said. Which was 12k. I said every 10k for me then. I also use full synethic with Ford filters.

Current truck ('11 5l) gets the same.

The oil life meter is around the 40-50% life left when I change the oil.

I'm sticking to 10k oil change intervals.

Yes there is. The 5.0L is a great engine. The Ecoboost is very tempermental to oil changes, like a 6.0L. Ford recommends that you change the oil every 12000 km, if you do this you will be changing the entire timing chain system and tensioners at about 100 000km to 120 000km, which is out of warranty so Ford will tell you to GFY if you think you are getting warranty (which is why I asked about extended warranty and ESP).

The 5000km interval will definitely not stop you from doing the timing system eventually, but the 5000km interval with synthetic will prolong it.

The "Oil Life Meter" is nothing more than a KM reader. It does not know shit about your oil. It is purely based on KM's driven since the last time someone reset it. If you would like to know how much oil life you actually have spend $40 and get a Used Oil Analysis done.

I've seen the life meter drop and say oil change required after only 3000k on a 2010 truck. It was reset as the oil changes are done at home by hand.
