Head light change

So how do you change the bulbs in the headlight. I bought some new white lights to change out the stock light. I look under the hood and I don't see how to get to the bulbs to replace them.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that when I swapped my '09 FX4 headlights (stock halogens) for blacked out Raptor headlights, (again halogens), I think they were a sealed unit

Plug and play, it seems to me that to replace the bulb you had to replace the entire headlight assembly, but something about that sounds awful familiar.

Maybe someone with a better memory or more hands on could tell you.

Where's that damn resident Mad Scientist when you need him, he'd be the guy that would know.

If a 09+ is like my 05 you have to remove the headlight and then access the bulbs from the back.

Found this with a quick google search. Seems thorough. Similar process to 04-08 trucks.

Thanks for that website link. It sure looks like a lot of work to just change a bulb

They thought it through perfectly! If we make it a pita enough, they'll pay us to change it. The customer loses, the mechanic loses, the "stealership" wins.

its pretty easy actually.
little plastic screw to remove the weather mat. then 3x10mm bolts. pull straight out.
turn the bulb out, unclip the connector. replace bulb, twist back into place.
align the asseblly. give a good push inward. will click/klunk back into place.
replace 3 bolts.

litterly couple mins to do.
