2009 F150 integrated wheel actuators

Anyone have issues or replace the actuators, on their f150. Only 48,000 km on the truck.

Very common on the 04-08 trucks but not unheard of on newer trucks either.

Mine went in my 05, ran without 4wd for a couple years before finally getting it done at Ford. It wasn't cheap but it's fixed.

Just an FYI, don't just assume it's just the IWE, test the entire vacuum system that operates the 4wd engagement. If there is an issue causing partial engagement you could trash the new IWE too.

Welcome to the site. Have you checked to see if one side or both not working?

Such is life. Just passing through.

Vacum seems to be functioning, constant grinding in the front wheels. I was just thinking if there is a way to replace what seems like a very fragile system with a warn manual hub system. If the original system didnt last very long. Love the truck but with only 48,000 km i shouldnt have to fix the 4x4 system. Warantee is timed out.

Know the feeling, I lost mine at relatively low mileage.

Unfortunately there are no manual hub options out there that I've come across in my extensive research on IWE's.

There is the RCV IWE delete kit. It's a sleeve that eliminates the IWE and just locks and turns the front end at all times. You might maybe see a one point drop in mpg. But to me it's worth it not to end up stuck without my 4x4.
