Rear tires binding/skipping

Parking lot speed when turning, some growling also.
I'm assuming clutch pack in the back ? Any other ideas ?

When was the differential oil level checked last? It sounds like you're in the right area.

Thanks. It was checked in February and showed OK. The problem is noticeable after a highway drive (2-3hrs.) , then lessens after an over night cool down.
It was real bad when I got back from Elliot Lake, then OK in the morning.
It goes in to Exeter Ford on Monday.

Definitely worth having a look, good luck for a fast and easy (i.e.- inexpensive lol) solution.

Probably should, at the very least, drain and refill the diff. Gear oil with friction modifier does wear down. Probably uses 75w140 synthetic w/modifier. I haven't looked up the particulars, though.

Ya,that's the first thing we're trying, then drive it for a couple of days.

Service manager was reluctant to change the clutch packs. They drained some fluid and added some friction modifier. He also suggested finding a parking lot with room to do figure 8s for awhile to get the fluid into the clutch plates. No charge .

I had this problem with my 2010. Until I realized it was in 4x4. Somehow I accidentally twisted the switch into 4x4.
Happened a couple more times and when I checked it was always in 4x4. Turned the 4x4 off and no problems.
