Owner reviews of "Tailgate Step"

Hi, just looking for some feedback from owners who opted for the tailgate step as an option on the F-150. I'm hearing mixed reviews concerning the step some of which are:

-durability of the step in general.
-the problem the step creates for those with folding tonneau covers in that it allows water to leak into the bed on either side of the top where the steps fits in.
- alot of unfinished looking parts inside the cavity where the step is stored that can lead to premature rusting.

Just wandering from you all if the benefits of the step outweigh the potential issues it creates.

I really like my step. No problems with water under the tonneau. Used it all winter, never frozen or a pain to open.n great idea.
