protective film? ( wtb - for footstep area at back door of Screw )

At the local dealer, I saw a protective film on the hood of the truck, that they applied, I guess to protect it from stone chips etc.

Now that I have my new truck, I am looking for some type of protective film for the footstep area at the back doors. I notice that the front driver and passenger door has a nice rubber instep built in, but the back doors do not and it is a painted surface. For some reason mine ALREADY has a frickin scratch in it. Might have been there before, never checked there.

Is there some sort of film I can purchase or something to protect that area from further abuse?

Thanks
Dave

I've had the 3M clear bra and/or Ventureshield done on a few vehicles and I love it. It's pricey though to have it installed. I wouldn't take it on myself.

3m is not good for a step area as described. I would likely peel in a yr or two and look even worse than a couple scratches.

How about a little Line-X applied to the area ? ? ? Would be grippy and protect the area. However, it would not be very shiny and would not be removable.

I actually had the same thoughts last night about the line-x instead of the clear film.
Thanks for your input about the film
