Trucks shakes like crazy at 120 km/hr +

like it says... it's pretty smooth for a truck up to that speed, than it shakes like a bastard.

any ideas on how to fix? I've got the crew with 6.5 box, 5/4 l with 373 axle. Has the upgraded LT tires on it, and 33,000 kms.

It has done it mostly from the start. I usually drive on 90 km highways, so my speed is consistantly at 110 km's per hour... when I go to pass, it shakes crazy bad.

I just had an alignment done after changing out my tie rod.

any ideas how to smooth it out?

Have the wheels rebalanced. Maybe a wheel weight fell off a rim? If it only has 33K, it should be under warranty, no?

well, new tie rod and tranny flash.. still shakes like crazy. I'm going to book an apt with one of the techs, and go a ride with them to show them what i'm talking about.

So it's only vibrating when downshifting to pass?..or even when steady speed?..bent driveshaft or missing weights on it? Maybe a fuel problem? Don't know man, hope the tech figures it out for ya

Just a thought, may be a bulge in the sidewall? If the tread is starting to separate I found it gives a bad vibe at top highway speeds.

Sounds a lot like a tire issue whether its balancing or maybe even that they are out of round or bulged.

if you drive it smoothly to 120kmh does it vibrate or is it just when passing?

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

More than likely it's either wheels, tires, or rotors. Could be the drive-shaft, but I would have thought that would be noticeable at much lower speeds.

Does the steering wheel shake? Try rotating the tires, it might give you a hint if it changes the vibration.
