Recycle Your Ride

I'm looking for some answers about this promotion. My understanding is that if I buy an F150 I will get 3000 no matter what type of vehicle I trade in as long as it is 2003 and older. Is this correct?

Second question is about the 6 month rule.Does the vehicle have to be registered and insured by me for the last 6 months. What if I bought it a month ago and now want to retire it?

Thanks

first of all retire your ride is a rebate program which means you put the money down first and then get reimbursed later after all the paper work is done. from the time i took delivery of my truck it took 6 weeks to process the paper work, just got my rebate a few days ago. took delivery in late july.

When i submitted all my paper work i had to provide two insurance slips because my policy renewal was inbetween the 6 month coverage (3 months on one slip, 3 on the second slip)

SAme here... still waiting on my cheque but the vehicle muct be still on the road and insured.

I was told to bring my current insurance slips as well as old ones to prove we just didn't pick up a junker to qualify for the program.

Can't wait for the 3K to show up

From the ford website
Recycle any vehicle 2003MY or Older and you can receive one of the following incentives:
  • Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Ranger, Transit Connect$1000
  • Taurus, Escape, Edge, Flex, Explorer, Sport Trac$2000
  • F-150, F250 – 550, Expedition, E-Series$3000
  • MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT, Navigator$3000

You get the $3K as long as your vehicle is 2003 or older. If it is older than 1995, get an additional $300.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a beater to use around town and insured it.It has been insured by the previous owner forever.I'd like to recycle it and get the 3300 (its a 92),but I'm thinking I may run into problems because I just bought it.

Step 1 from the Ford website says:If you own a 2003 (or older) running vehicle that has been properly registered and insured for the last six months, visit your closest Ford dealer to confirm your eligibility under Ford's Exclusive Recycle Your Ride program for up to $3,000 in incentives.

Any ideas about this?I'm hoping I can do it.

I'm thinking you will too. Call your dealer to find out for sure.
