Rubber Smell

Hello, i am new to this forum, here is my question.

When driving down the highway and then stop at a light or stop sign i can smell kind of like rubber burning or melting but not sure where its coming from. It started when i was driving home on wet, very salty highways.

Let me know if anybody has experienced this before.

rubber smell

I am smelling this on my 2010 f150 FX4 screw, i now have about 6k and did not smell it my first long trip. Seems to be coming from the engine comp. passenger side.

i would take it to the nearest dealership to have it checked out,i couldn't find any tsb's for concern but there is a recall on some f150's for body control module replacement(possible short circuit concerns)

Did you get an undercoating package when you bought your truck? I know when we got ours, they added the undercoating after the test drive, and it was applied fresh the day before we picked it up. We didn't smell much on the way home (short drive), but for the next several days, everytime the vehicle got "hot" enough, it would "burn" off the excess undercoating on the drivetrain parts.... smelled liked burning rubber......... pretty bad at times too.

No undercoating done and i started semlling it after 4500km, second long trip on wet highways (450km one way). Before my second long trip i added new tires and rims with a 2" leveling kit in front. Bigger tires but no rubbing (295/70R18 NITTO TRAIL GRAPPLERS with 18x9 XD-MONSTER rims). Thought it was my tires at first but they don't even get hot (rims or tires), anyway i will keep checking and maybe bring it to a dealer.

Thanks

I've been getting a burning smell from my truck, but think it may be a burning brake or clutch smell which concerns me with the torque converter. I smell mine when The truck is stopped or moving very slow, and I can smell it right in the front center of the cab. I've been smelling this for a while now but didn't have the time to get it in so I'm trying to get it in now. My truck has 55K on it, I didn't really have this problem when it was brand new. Is there any chance you guys might be having the same smell?

I have noticed the smell of burning rubber coming from my truck on the drivers side when
I stop at 180 km on my way to kingston . The truck has about 47000 km on it. Going in
for service on satuday will get it looked in to. I'll keep you posted.
