My Mustang for sunny days

This is my summer ride

Had it since 89'.
1988 Notch.

Engine: 351 stroked to 383. Girdled with a 7 quart underneath. Dart Sr. heads ported and polished, custom radical cam done by Colt Cams in Langley (awesome job BTW), Demon Blower carb and a Aeromotive fuel system, topped off with a Vortech pumping out 8 PSI. (had 13# when it was a 306 but it dropped when the extra cubes came about) and methanol injection.

MSD ignition box and distributor.

1 7/8 long tubes into a 3" off road into a 3" Mac catback.

Lakewood shocks 70/30 in front 50/50 out back, sitiing on JBA springs.

All on the stock never been cracked open T-5.

I just thought I would share..

The rest of the pics are in my album

Thanks for the comments guys.

I forgot some other mods as well.

Cooling is done with a 2 core brass rad, a Black Magic electric fan and a high volume pump.

And the rear has 4:10's with Moser 31 spline race axles, C-clip eliminator set, Auburn Pro race posi, T/A girdle and an Aluminum driveshaft.

This thing has been a large money pit but when I step on the gas it feels all worth while.

Very nice toy. How fast in the 1/4 have you had it going?

I've got an 86 5.0 that is my money pit as well. Just picked up a Vortec blower for it and will be mounting it this summer. I've had mine going high 12's in the 1/4 at 110 MPH.

Cheers to a fellow stang banger

Never had it at the track. Only messing around on the street.
Only on a dynojet once back with my second engine which was a 306 FI, nowhere near the power output now , this one is nasty. The old one put down 410 HP/ 415TQ at the tires with a bad tune and the wrong rear end oil in (a wee bit of grinding). Once it was fixed up it felt way better than those numbers. Had a race with a 2002 Z28 SS with a 200HP NOS shop on it and took him by a car length each time in 4 tries.

The shop that does the work guesses in the 750 HP ballpark for this setup compared to other cars they have had there with numbers. All specualtion though .

You will love the Vortech. Reliable as hell. I got mine put in March of 1992, #569, when Vortech was very new, and it still runs great. Replaced the bearings a couple of years ago and it is good for another 10 years.

What pullies/ boost you planning on?
