Toyota Land-Cruiser

Well Am currently roaming the Western region of Africa ..

So I thought I'de post a picture of my Cruiser .

Straight 6 Diesel .. 5 on the floor ..



These trucks are Tough regardless of what people say / think about Toyota's ..

I cannot figure out why they are not Available in the UK or North America?

now those are the tough yota's at least mechanicaly, i think it has somthing to do with that they wont pass emssions (theway they are there) and there saftey rateing (crash test) isnt up to par for the rest of the world.


what are you doing in africa ? I take it your at a mine ?

Yeah there Pretty tough ... Theres NO tarmac roads for 60 clicks either way ..

Am not sure about the Emissions or Safety as they can be bought in Australia .. (Only V8 Diesels)

Am working the Gold mines in the area, 4 mines between 30mins & 2 1/2 hr drive from Camp.

I had a great xmass as I spent it at home with the family ..

the 31 sounds nice but you can keep the humidity lol

MMM yeah Av had it nearly over the bonnet (Hood ) but never had the camera on hand (Bog roll on hand)

They have given me a new Landy when I get back ... Pics to follow ..

Back to the Toyota: The reason why they are good is they are BASIC!! I mean no ELECTRICS OF ANY KIND .. The new one still has a tape deck as standard ..

Africa...wow...pretty cool...couldn't even imagine it Ross.

I'm guessing the equipment would have to be basic and durable - can't exactly step out to the local dealership for parts and service. lol
