new tires new air pressure ?

hey guys
well decided to install new tires on my 2016 F150 xlt 4x4 and went with a heavier tire .
LT265/70r17 bfg all terrain ko2. great tires , more grip in the snow and ice then the factory goodyear that came on the truck.
anyways .
same size but I read that the air pressure should be alittle higher then stock tires as the tires are heavier. the installer put at factory pressure so should it be increased and to what.
thanks
Glenn

Same size tire as OEM, same pressure, why change it ? Who/what source recommended that the air pressure should be higher just because you went to an LT ?

You can order an F150 with the LT tires, and I don't think the door sticker recommends anything different than a regular "P" series tire.

didn't read it or source it.
guy at work couple of years ago went to the same tires though I can't remember if he changed the size. he felt the truck was dragging and slugish with same pressure, though once he got the shop to increase the pressure the truck drove better and smoother. make sense?
I just wanted to confirm first LT tires on any of my trucks.

I run 10 ply tires on my truck and anything over 40 psi you can really notice harsher ride.

Such is life. Just passing through.

I always go by the recommended PSI for the tire. I've always thought generally LT tires should be run in the high 30's.

I agree once you get over 40 things can get a bit rough.

I run mine between 50 and 65 depending on the truck and the load. Door says 80 for mine. At 80, the ride is a little rough. 40 is too low for mine. They don't wear right.

I had ford put LT285/65/20 BFG KO2s on my 2017 when I picked it up new this past August.

I took them off for the winter, so they are in the garage.
They are sitting with 29psi currently.
So I’m gunna assume they were set to 32psi in the summer when they were put on.
