Been having some issues with my 4 wheel drive.
When pulling the lever I always hear it click in, and it always goes in and starts moving fine. Either stopped or on the fly.
But once I move a few feet it feels like the truck goes into neutral. Give it gas and it just wont move. Pull the lever up and I get a nasty grinding, push it back into 2 wheel and I get a big thump. I seems like its in between 2 and 4. Any ideas?
Its a 91 lariat, 302, auto hubs

My only solution would be to put in a New Process 205 F transfer case and end your trouble once and for all. It almost sounds like it's walking out of gear into neutral. Check the linkage adjustment first. Oil level could be low and has worn out something. I think it takes ATF.

gonna go check the linkage tonight. Was told to pull it up, mark it, remove the linkage from the shifter and pull it by hand and I will be able to see that it should be adjusted tighter
