Rearend Help

I know my old truck project isn't a posi rearend and I have heard of guys welding there's. So got board and took the truck to my dad's shop which has welders torches and everything. So I opened the rear diff drained the oil clean it out niiice, and then proceeded to weld, after sitting 4 hours to cool I then put the cover back on with a new gasket and filled with new oil. To make sure I did a good weld I decided to do a burn out in the shop and well my u-joints broke and the drive shaft flew across the shop. Here's a pic of my weld I really need help with this Thanks.

hope you aren't expecting those gears to last very long! Or you're planning on doing nothing but driving in straight lines!

I didn't look at the pic before! If the ring and pinion are welded together the rear end can't rotate at all!
