I'm building a 429 to put in my 96. There are kits out there to do it. If I remember right they're about $1300

429/460 is a common swap in older fords. The 428 is not very common though, they have a different bell housing pattern (same as 360/390) and you may have trouble finding parts like motor mounts and headers that are readily available for the 429/460 swap.

the swap kits include motor mounts and headers. I'll see if I can find the site

L&L makes the kit for the 429/460. Here is one link of many I'm sure: http://www.landlproducts.com/default.aspx

Hi new here but not to the trucks and big blocks.
swap kit is not a necessity. 460's came in these trucks 83-97. definitly used OEM parts.
YOu do have to hunt a bit to find what you're looking for, so if time is an issue, the kit is the way to go.
hardest part to find. Oil pump pickup tube.
