ODBII port location

My uncle sold his pre-97 F150 and got a 98 Ranger but he doesn't know where the ODBII port is located. I told him to look below the dash under the steering wheel on the right side. Not sure if this is correct. Anyone know where its located?

Whaddya mean I dont pay my bills?? Whydya think I'm broke!!

I think its either under the column or on the left side of it under the dash

Should be just under the dash on the driverside pretty much in line with center of steering wheel

It's on the driver's side under the dash on my 1996 B-series.

I'm waiting to hear back from him., I told him about this forum but he seems content to communicate through facebook. I asked about the trim type, motor etc. He just said the CEL was on. He's not big on details.

Update: He took it to a shop and they found one of the O2 sensor harnesses had corroded and become disconnected, cost $144 to fix. Ran fine for about an hour then the CEL came back on. Could it be a bad O2 or bad cat? No update on which motor he has, I've asked 3 times.

Ok got more info from him but its like pulling teeth. He's got the 3.0L v6 motor. I'll ask about the codes but I'm assuming the mechanic never told him.
