lower valance

wow changed the broken lower valance on my 09 took less than a minute to pop it out and back on using a plastic coated screwdriver
2 of us standing there afterwards mystified how easy it would be for anyone to walk past and steal it
Guess they must loose loads at the car dealerships
Between the door locks and this I think they forgot Ford tough

I don't think too many guys are out there stealing valances... the door locks are another thing though. Get a good alarm system and your set.

The problem with alarms is they only go off after someone has broken in. I don't know about you, but any stuff left inside my truck isn't worth more than window glass or broken locks. If anyone wants half a jug of windshield washer fluid and a broken ballpoint pen, I wish they'd ask, and save me the trouble and expense of fixing my truck.

The dumb thing is that breaking into a rusty 1984 Hyundai Pony carries the same penalty as breaking into a BMW 7-series ... theoretically. In practise, there usually isn't much of a penalty, if any at all.

We're in the wrong business.

If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me.

Garage
Does anyone even pay attention to alarms? I hear one and I'm not thinking about someone breaking into the vehicle, I'm thinking, shut that P.O.S. up!

If they want into the vehicle bad enough, doesn't matter what sort of deterrent you've got - a hammer to the glass works wonders.

Valance is nothing - grab a portable floor jack and lug wrench, and you could be sitting on the axles in no time!!

b4000 has a good point.....don't keep piles of crap in your truck in plain sight.

Agree with these guys, pretty hard to alarm your valance anyways. Only lived in the city here in BC for 2 years, alarm has gone off twice (both attempted break ins) and all the neighbors did was whine and bitch about the noise! I miss the country.

Keep your stuff out of sight, try park your truck somewhere that is light (or in a garage) and if your really that worried about your valance, I would just take it off and keep it in the house! Good way to make sure no one gets it.

Good luck.
