Raer Brakes - 2010 Ranger

I want to remove the rear calipers and pads to inspect, clean and lube. The bottom nut is the usual but the top one has an arm with a canister on the end of it. I have been advised it has something to do with the traction control. There does not seem to be any tube or wire going to this. My question is this....can I remove this and reinstall without problems? Dave

Stupid question, but why would you be ripping your brakes apart on a 2010 ?

Just thinking out loud here, but with potential warranty issues , don't know if I'd be screwing around, but that's just me.

I understand the value in inspecting, cleaning and lubing, just seems a little early in the life of the truck when you've only got one winter on it.

Do you have the info I requested? I have 42,000 Km's on it. I do not get any work done at the dealer but do all of my own. There just has to be someone here who knows!! Dave

No, I don't have the info you requested, it was more of a question, sorry for bothering you.

I'd say go for it and see what happens.

I can't believe that someone here doesn't have the information. There are enough 2010 and 2011's around that somebody will answer.

Maritime Storm......I have the exploded drawing but no list to say what #2 and 3 are? I also went to the link you give and I don't think that it addresses what these extra parts are and if removal can cause problems. Dave

If you read through the text they explain the #3 item is a noise damper.

Thanks "Storm". So now I know. I will have the rear brakes removed inspected and lubed asap. I love my Ranger 4 cylinder five speed. It is everything that I need. Dave
