Fan blowing cold air?

Since it was a nice hot day, I turned the fan on....it was blowing very cold air much like A/C. Switched it A/C and it appeared be blowing the same cold air. I think that I noticed this briefly last year....but didn't think much about it. Any thoughts? Warranty runs out at the end of this year.

Confirm the problem, then dealer.

If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me.

Ive heard (and experienced) that if its on the defrost setting then a/c pump clutch stays ingaged..... switch it to reg fan and it should blow in the hot outside air....
mines does this and even puddles under the truck.... switching it over and it doesnt.

Was the temperature rheostat turned to the coldest setting ?

Half the time on the hot days I get decently cold air without the A/C running so I don't bother punching the A/C button unless it gets too unbearable.

My other F150's did much the same.

No answer, I know, but hot day, cold air is better than hot day, hot air any.......um.....day.

Yes, the temperature was rotated to the coldest setting. The setting was the two fans (high and low)....no defrost.

I will try it out again with various settings and see if I can replicate the issue. Thanks all.

My 2010 does the same thing. I reported it to the dealer. They checked it and said it was OK. In fact it probably is OK. It was designed such that the AC actually runs in all but a few settings.

The reason for that is to ensure the clutch, compressor and seals are exercised all year round to prevent them not working when called upon during the warm seasons.

Off is one of the only settings where the AC is well and truly off.

A few Ranger owners have told me that the above is normal. Vent to the floor or thru the dash is fan only. Vent to both the floor and dash is A/C.

If its too cold turn your temp up.

On more humid but not really cold days. I usually run the a/c but turn the temp up a bit. It will pull the humity out of the air before putting into the truck.
