Best Fluid for the M5OD-R1HD

Any find a fluid the allows for a smoother shift in the M5OD-R1HD than MerconV?

anything in a synthetic ATF. I've used "Transynd" from Allison before but it is pretty expensive stuff. some of the newer nonsynthetic ATF has friction modifiers in it, those don't seem to help. definitely go with a synthetic ATF.

I took one of these apart a few years ago and someone had put in 80w90 .
I was wondering why it was so hard to shift.

I switched out the factory fill a couple years ago for Mobil Super Multi-ATF(Ford warrnty approved for Mercon V). No noted improvement in the shift quality. Later on a whim I, filled it with Mobil Super D/M and it shifts better but not as good as I feel it should be. That's why I'm wondering if someone found something better.

I was told a pint of gear oil after filling it with mercon v helps out. The forks always get toasted so the little bit of over filling helps out.
