2011 Ranger lowering

I would like to lower my 2011 Ranger sport a few inches. In looking at the back, i was going to remove the stock lift block from under the spring to above the spring. I did see that there are brake dampers on the top bolt of each brake caliper in the rear which would be very close to the spring if not hitting it after i lower it. I was thinking of replacing the dampers with bolts but I understand they provide a function to remove any squealing and other brake noises. Anyone tried this before and can you provide any advice?
