Recall Notice: Speed Control Deactivation

Just go a recall notice from Ford regarding my 2008 Ranger Sport. It is about a speed control deactivation switch. Appears that it presents a risk of fire if the switch leaks brake fluid.

It is free, just wanted to let everyone know to watch for theirs.

Thanks for posting that.

But what's wierd is that Ford had a recall on that exact problem back in 2007, I think?

(Just for the record, I haven't received any notice for my 2007 Mazda, so maybe they just install defective parts on even-numbered years???)

If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me.

I don't have cruise either. Not even power windows. Bone stock except for the automatic transmission.

My father's 02 Edge was recalled, no cruise on it either. Talked to Taylor Ford, they install a circuit breaker in that circuit apparently to avoid an overheat condition. This is the latest of a long series of recalls on this part. My BIL 91 Crown Vic has been reaclled 4 times in the last 2 years for this same issue.
