what size eng and trans?most hi milage trucks i've seen have rusted rockers and if no tailgate the box welds come apart.but overall a good daily driver(lots of parts to be had)

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

The 4.0 OHV had head problems (So I've been told by my mechanic). The 3.0 is almost bulletproof. The manual trannys have slave issues, the autos don't seem too bad. If your getting it for the winter get, a 4x4, they get a lot tail happy in the slippery stuff. I could put mine sideways in 4 wheel drive. Overall they are solid trucks. I loved mine but it was just too small for me.

VMP and 5-Star tuned no more

I have a few more details on the ranger I mentioned couple of weeks ago.
It is a 1998 Ford Ranger Flare Side 3.2 litre V-6 w/ 5 speed transmission. It has a little
over 200 000 km on it . The truck was just e-tested and it passed and is plated but is being sold as is . He is asking 2000.00 . The truck seems to be in good to fair condition. What is you opinion . Good price / Too High / fair or walk away. Thanks For Your Imput and opinions.
Larry.

Check Trader.ca and compare the price to similar trucks. Sounds to me if it's all you say, the price is probably reasonable. Cheaper is always better, if you can chisel down the price a little. Remember you may still be spending another few hundred dollars to a grand on an older vehicle, on things like tires, battery, brakes, etc., no matter how good the condition. I think if you're a CAA member you can get it mechanically inspected with a full report for about $100(?). It'll give you a nice list of what you can expect to spend on repairs, etc. The nice thing about a truck like that is that they're pretty easy to work on yourself (or your son!), compared to a lot of FWD cars.

If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me.
