As long as you leave your cats alone and aftermarket exhaust shouldn't void your warranty. I have a magnaflow on my truck and I think it sounds good. At idle you can barely tell its there but when you put your foot into it you can sure hear it.

Not sure on how you want your truck to sound ? Rumble at idle or more at highway speed ? On my 2001 I had 4 different mufflers and didn't like the sound of any of them so I just ran straight pipes out the back, My 04 fx4 I just got rid of I had 3 different mufflers on it and same issue, No matter what muffler choice you do Fords just don't have that " chevy dodge " rumble

HI!... He has a RANGER not a F-150. He's got a 4.0L V-6. Go with the Magnaflow cat back. Summit Racing sells it at a good price compared to what Magnaflow wants for it.

Well that just changes everything now doesn't it, us f150 guys just thought he was running a f150 been he didn't state what he had for a truck. Put a flowmaster 40 on it run 2 1/2 pipe out the back, split duals

HI!... On the RANGER with the 4.0L stay away from the Flowmaster (rustmaster) mufflers. They are just for sound. I lost H.P/TQ when I installed a set on my F-150. Go with a MAGNAFLOW cat back. 2.5 inch single pipe. Don't go duals on the RANGER. You will lose back pressure and will lose power.

on the 4.0, a chambered muffler is the only way to go. The difference between a flowmaster and a magnaflow is so little, you probably won't even notice the difference. Unless the truck is dynoed. I vote flowmaster. The super 40 I had on my ranger sounded awesome. magnaflow sounds like a$$ on anything but a V8 IMHO

VMP and 5-Star tuned no more

HI!... Well I hate to disagree but Flowmasters are basically sound only. On my F-150 I lost 11RWH.P and 8RWTQ with a FLOWMASTER set-up verses my MAGNAFLOW set-up. The Magnaflow is quiet at idle and has a bit of sound while cruising. At WOT they sound crisp. My buddies LS1 Camaro lost 48RWH.P with a Flowmaster set-up. Flowmasters drone like crazy on the highway.

Here's a few sound clips from the MAGNAFLOW site with their cat-back on a 4.0L Ranger.
