Auxiliary Input

I have a Ranger 2009 with the 6-CD changer Pioneer system. When I tried to plug in my iPod in the Aux input, no sound come out from the system.

The input is set to AUX - Line in. I have also verified my 3.5mm jack seperatly on my home stereo and it works fine.

Do I need to do something special to make it work?

Sounds like you've done everything correctly. Did you use the same 3.5 mm patch cable you verified on your home stereo? Defective 3.5 mm cable?

I have the single CD player version, and I noticed that with the AUX input, you do need to crank the volume a bit, but I'd think you should hear something, at least.

Otherwise, since it's all under warranty still, take it to the dealer.

If Princess Auto were a real girl, I'd ask her to marry me.

Have you tried setting the ipod's volume to maximum?

Failing that, someone could have forgotten to connect the aux input inside the dash when they assembled your truck...

I just want to let everyone know that I have an appointment at my Ford dealer tomorrow. They will plug the audio system on the computer to figure out what is wrong. My iPod and jack worked well on another car they had.

I will let you know what was the problem!
