Changing the Rear Differntial Fluid, suggestions?

Next weekend I'm changing the rear differential gear oil, I tow a 4000Lb sailboat twice a year, should I be using something thicker then 80W90?

id say 80/90 is just fine.... we use it in transports and cranes and there alot more weight and its just fine

synthetic is an option though

the rear diff calls for a 75w140 synth.+friction modifier if limited slip.

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

My owner's manual specified 80W90. I beleive the torsen differential was speced for the 75w140. Mine has a 3.55:1 8.8" Open rear in it
