Is it possible to take the heat temp knob off?

When turning the knob there is a bit of a grind in certain spots and not always the same spot of rotation. Is there a way to take the knob off to see if there is something in there? Like a piece of sand or something, I don't want to just yank it off and have it not able to clip and stay on anymore. If not then will just have to leave it be, no stealership where I live so cannot bring it in.

The ones for the climate control should just pull off...my only concern would be if it breaks and the knob is not a seperate orderable piece, and you have to replace the whole unit.

Yes that is what I was afraid of, was searching online and the only knobs I found were for older F150's so maybe only option would be the whole unit.

Thanks but think the garage you are talking about is in Iqaluit or some other community, which is a long ways away. Live in a fly-in only community so cannot drive to another place to go to a garage. Tried customer service a few times all they say is take it into a dealer otherwise we cannot help you.
