URGENT - 2007 F150 Lariart - Good Price??

Hello All,

This is my first post on the forum, I have been reading for some time as I have been in the market for an F 150 for some time.

Through my buddy, i have met someone (original owner) of a 2007 F 150 Lariat. it's a really nice, full load truck. The catch is that it's at 240,000 kms.... the reasoning for that i got is that his house and work are a 100km daily round trip (checks out).

I got a mechanical inspection and everything looks solid. only the brakes and radiator service were recomended, with brakes needing changing in a few months.

So...he started out at $8500....and i have him down to $7500. I've never bought one of these trucks vefore....could i get some opinions on this urgently please? I need to give him an answer today at some point.

I really appreciate your help in advance guys!! Thanks!

Oh, and my reason for buying a truck are because I'm in need of a second vehicle for evenings and weekends...and I'd be putting on about 200kms/week on it for the forseeable future....it's more of a rec toy that I've convinced my wife to let me get!! I do not plan to put this truck to work, off road, or do any type of hauling with it...thanks guys.

tell him $7000

still not a bad price but with the extra klms expect stuff like bearings/balljoints possible rearend wear

but if its just a once andawhile truck then it should be fine

Any time we buy a pre-owned car or truck it's a crapshoot. What does your gut tell you ?
If it feels right buy it. Good Luck ...

thanks for the input guys....
my gut says to get it. i can't find anything cheaper with that many features.
i plan to baby this thing, and i know i'm getting in to a vehicle that will/may require up keep....moreso than something with less clicks on it.

I think i'm gonna pull the trigger!

it sounds like a decent price if it's a 4x4 but is it a reg cab, scab or screw? regardless, being a truck means it's going to cost more to run than a car - parts are typically more expensive and wear out faster. Based on 200k/week, I'd bet it'll cost 50 or 60 bucks in gas to run... ball-park guess.

Picked it up on the weekend...i'm really happy with it actually. it's a SuperCrew Lariat, and 4x4...thanks for the heads up. i have had a Ford Sport Trac before, but this is my first full size pick-up...i was guessing the same for gas too!
I picked up the truck with just a little under half tank still in it. the display shows 429kms to empty...is this about right? 800+ kms from a tank??

I'd be amazed if you can get that many kms out of a tank. I can only get about 500 kms give or take on a good day but I've got 35" m/t tires on it with 3.73 gears.

and that's a 136L tank lol

I just remembered that my speedometer is off a bit because of the oversized tires... maybe I'm getting more like 600km to a tank... not sure what difference it makes. The speedometer is programmed for my old tires (33.7" and my new tires are 34.5") FWIW
