New 08 F150 owner

Hi everyone,im new to the site just bought a 08 F150 supercab STX,6.5 bed, 4x4 with the 4.6l. I've only had it a few days so im trying to figure this thing out......lol This is my first Ford, always had GMC's. The forum looks great too

I do have a question,I had the dealer print me out the build/option sheet and it says the truck has the "extended range" fuel tank. Does anyone know how many litres this tank is? Im really hoping its not the 135 litre tank

Thanks

Welcome to fordtough.ca ! Great crew on board here and lots of helpful advice/info to be found.

Congrats on the '08 STX, be sure to post up some pics of your ride when you have a chance.

I'm going to say Glen's right on the money about your fuel tank question..... I believe the standard size tank is 100 litres (which I have currently), and the 135 litre is the "extended range" (which I had on a previous FX4).

Thanks guys! Only pic I have is of when the truck was on the lot.
When the weather gets better i'll put some up,kinda snowy and slushy out there right now.

To the guys with the ext tanks, what kinda of kms were you getting on a tank?
My 07 Sierra with the 5.3L had a 98 litre tank and I was getting 560-580kms per tank,so im just trying to get an idea here.

I had an '09 FX4 with the 5.4L, and I would typically get 600 to 700 km out of a tank, without running it to dead empty. (most times somewhere around the 1/8th of a tank mark)

As expected, if you were doing a straight highway run that number would be slightly higher.

Hope that helps.

Welcome to the forum, I have the 4.6L with the 135L and i'm getting 550 km's to a tank but i have over sized tires so that drops 1-2 mpg.
