Oh my aching a$$

Just picked up my 04 FX4 after spark plug replacement. Ouch! With gst and shop supplies $597.53. 80,000 km on plugs and figured should replace after hearing all horror stories over the years. $378. flatrate labour and was told if they broke a plug would be extra 1/2 hour per broken plug. All plugs came out cleanly. I guess, no garage-Northern Alberta-winter time- Pay the price!

Such is life. Just passing through.

why didnt you do them yourself? Is there something about the year that makes them more difficult than reg plug change?

Guess I just think back to "The good old days"for the price of parts at wholesale when I used to do all this myself. But that is when you could crawl under the hood and sit and still have room to work!

Garage
Could have been worse I suppose, if they actually broke...least now there's peace of mind that they won't be a problem, and you won't have to think about plugs for another 80,000+ km ?

You're lucky. My dad's 06' had 7 of 8 break. The bill was almost $1500 for the job and it took them 2 days to do it. I'm at 113,000, Ford says the plugs are good until 150 so I'll just trade it off before that and save the headache.
