E Fans

Has anyone installed e fans and what was their experience afterwards? Is it worth it for power gains or just at high rpm?

Frees up a hair of horsepower due to less spinning mass on the engine.
Get a good fan controller and it will be great

I have had mine on for a while now, love them. I am not sure of the power gains, but just the space in the engine is almost worth it for me lol! Helps the AC quiet a bit, but not like we get scorching heat over here.

Definitely worth it. Like Blair said the controller is the key

I did the e-fan mod on my 2000 f150, I picked up a 19" fan at a junk yard for $50, made my own mounting brackets. With the controller you want to be able to adjust the on/off temp. The controller I used had set temp so the fan ran more then it needed to. Yes I liked it and so did Ford the truck now come stock with e-fans. !!

Thanks for the input guys. Really appreciate it. You know how it goes----too many ideas and too little $$$$. Maybe next year for towing.

Garage
Great for the A/C. Good for the cooling system. Supposed to get about a 5~7 hp gain. As for control, check with f150phule. I gave him the schematics for controlling a dual fan setup. Draw on the altenator is a lot more. You may want to up the output. Heavy gauge wiring and good connections are a must. Definately put heavy relays between the controller and the fans. And fuse everything!
