4 X 2 Front Wheel Bearing Info.

For those few owners of 4 X 2 F-150's that have been wondering if you can just replace your front wheel bearings located within your front brake rotors, yes... you can. (they can be pressed in and out of the rotor unit)

Here are some bearing part numbers for you.

Timken: part # SET930

SKF : part # FW23

FAG: part # FW314

Hope this info. can be of help to someone.

Press on regardless!

Wouldn't that be year specific?

I would assume he's speaking for 04-08 2wd trucks.

Yes, those bearing part numbers are for use on /04- /08 4 X 2 model trucks, and are the bearing manufacture numbers. ( I purchased my Timken brand bearings directly from them)

Is this not the "F -150 2004 to 2008 Forum XL, XLT, STX, LARIAT, FX4, FX2 " section??

My HP rotors are just fine, just the bearing cartridges were "FUBAR" , besides... Ford wants to sell us the whole rotor assembly when it comes to these 4 X 2 units.

BTW...My truck was hit by someone last week, and thankfully they just damaged one of my /08 F X 2 wheels. Ford quoted me $720.00 for the rim and $135.00 for the centre cap, plus the HST, bringing the total to over a grand... which in my view, is just nuts... for a just few hundred more, I can buy another set of FOUR wheels including TIRES for that price! (These would be new "take off sets" of course)

Here is the link, http://www.usedtruckcaps.ca/browse/t...make=0&model=0

See? Always willing to share info. on here.

Press on regardless!

That's the great thing about free choice, if you don't like the price you can always take your money, and your business, elsewhere.

Jeez, and I thought the black SVT wheels I got for winter were pricey at $300 each, maybe going to the wrong dealer for prices ?

Post pics when you get the chance, and congrats on the new wheels.

Checked at two Ford "stealership's" , same price listings.
The person that hit my truck, is writing me a cheque for over a grand.

New bearings now pressed in to my second spare set of plated drilled and slotted front rotors, truck rolling much quieter now.
Brake system flushed and refilled with Motorcraft HD fluid.

My wheel search continues...
