What year, style of 4.6L is it?

Assuming you've placed the thread in the right section, plug blowouts with 2V 4.6L in 04-08 trucks aren't something I've ever heard of. Have you or anyone touched the plugs lately? Blowouts were more common on 2V 5.4L engines in the 97-03 trucks because the specified torque specs from Ford were wrong.

A Ford dealer in my area replaced the plugs 30k ago when they did my exhaust manifolds not likely they'd take any responsibility .
08 4.6 , should have it back today , got a good mechanic doing the work , he also had to pull the intake cuz of a minor leak and where the plug was located was a pita to access with the intake on .

Did Rick do the work? Did it take the threads out?

It wasn't so much the torque as it was the amount of threads holding them in, 97-03 had 4 thread heads, 03-04 had 8 thread and not as prone to spitting plugs.

Awesome! Rick is a great guy, never had him work on my rides but many many people have and they always say he does an excellent job.
