Magnaflow side exhaust

Anyone have one, specifically the type that exits in front of the wheel?
I'm contemplating changing my stock Harley exhaust for one... comments?

I just bought 18"x6" round magnaflow, and a 16"x3.5" 45 deg slash cut magnaflow tip. Took it to muffler shop, took old muffler and tailpipe off, welded on new muffler, bent a peice of pipe to come out in front of tire at 45 degree, welded on tip but twisted 90 degree, makes the tip come out flush with box. Cost bout 100 for muffler and tip and another 60 for the install. Before installing the tip, i spray-painted the inside with black stove paint. Sounds awesome, especially when it echoes of a building or when passing a car. I'll try to post a pic. Should be one in my vBGarage.

Heard that rumour on another site, but the end result is that the side exhausts are fine, wheels/tires are okay and mine is in the garage waiting for my return.

I have only heard it makes the rims/tires more dirty..

lumberjack just had a custom install on his truck..
Magnaflow muffler and side exit put on his truck.. I don't think he has drove it much to tell about pitting on the rims etc. yet..

Read about all the 'cons' about side exhaust on other sites and although there are differing opinions, and so there should, the end result is that the majority of comments that I read were positive towards the side exit exhausts, Bassani, Magnaflow or whoever.
Only time will tell with mine.

im going to be running the jdm/kooks exhaust that uses magnaflow mufflers dont know what it sounds like but im after the performance from the set up

the wheel thing was because it would turn the plastic hubcaps yellow and in some cases eat the finish off (clearcoat) makeing a mess but i believe there was a catalytic converter issue with the early 97/98's with this exhaust setup and if you took it in they would re-rote the tailpipe....

my buddy used to have the exhaust exit infront of the back tire and it did end up making the rim really dirty ,he ended up cutting the exhaust back so the tip ended up ferther into the undercarriage

just for the heads up this place has wicked deals on roush exhaust http://www.woodhousestore.com/servle...rt=17&total=32

yes it was the 97-98 that had the side exhaust exit before the tire and the issue was the chrome on the rims was to thin turned yellowish ford came good for it and replaced the rim on that side, not on my truck was on my dad's truck, thats what the dealer told us anyways was a rim issue not the exhuast.
