Misfire on 7 & 8

Truck is under the knife today. Had a miss in overdrive when pulling slight grades.

Showing a miss on 7 and 8 and random on the other bank. I was hoping for a bad coil but they say plugs.

Dealer recommends doing all 8 plugs but is going to try changing 7&8 first and see that clears it up.

If changing the 2 doesn't work looks like all 6 will be coming out. Quoted $600 for a clean no break change of all 8 and $70 per broken plug if some do break which I think is a fair price. Hopefully after all these years they've gotten good at this job.

Make sure that they installed the special thread lube on the plugs before they installed them.

Press on regardless!

Naturally both plugs broke.

Got them extracted and replaced with the new plugs and the miss is gone. Ran it 250km yesterday on the highway and it didn't miss once under load.

The other 6 should be done but maybe later.

$427 to replace 2 spark plugs, Yikes.

Glad to hear it's running good again. Damnnn, pricey for two plugs. I lucked out a year or so back and all mine came out good.
Good luck with the other six.

Such is life. Just passing through.

Been a week now and still running strong. Didn't realize until it was fixed how much power was missing. I was getting pretty bad fuel economy before, gained 2MPG back after the work.

Always a drag when things break, always a joy to have it working again.

Good to hear you're back up and running herbz, not so good with dropping the cash, but you do what you gotta do I guess.
