4.6 CAI

so i am thinking of puting in a knn or air-raid cai system. the AR web site claims 8hp gain which I am kinda doubtful.
Anyone has CAI installed and any comment? performance gain, gas milage. is it worth it. Also do you have to re-set your ecu after or had any issue?

by itself a cai wont do much than make noise,it works best as a package cai-tuner-exhaust.

Dont waste your money. I had an airaid on my 06, I lost fuel mileage, lost power on hot sunny days, the whistle it made got kinda of annoying too. I sold it for what I paid for it and modified the stock intake.

it does help with the a/f:r it showed on my yband it leaned it out a lil and mpg did go up buy 40k a tank, and when i got all the tuning done on the truck it helped even more...

the faster the air can get in and get out the more power ur going it get, with in reason.

on my '05 I had a aFe. it felt a bit more aggressive. exhaust sounded great!
and I got about 1.5mpg better gas mileage. mind you when I could stay out of the pedal.

although this truck will have a k&n and a superchips tuner with a k&n tune.

Save for a good programer and keep checking websites for best deals.
I started with K/N then Flomaster exhaust, finally Edge Evo CTS which was the best to balance air management for me and to able to see what is happening as well as a real difference you feel in performance
