Prestone/Coolant Smell?

A year absent, and my come-back post is a question about trouble with my truck, yeah! Anyway, I'm back from a heart surgery (5 by-pass), and alive, better than ever :D

Lastly, when I start my truck, on certain occasion, a mild coolant smell come for a while then disappear. This afternoon, I was "a little hard on the pedal", and the smell came back. The truck only have 75 000kms on it (2008 5.4). Any ideas?

No ideas for you, but that's some pretty heavy duty mods on your heart - good to see you back on the forum in good health.

Glad your back on and the tickers solid again. Is the smell constant now? Best bet would likely be to pressure test the coolant system. That should pinpoint any leaks even if they couldnt normally be seen. Could be something as simple as the overflow leaking.

I would still reccomend pressure testing it to pinpoint a leak. Did you notice if the coolant level is still at the full mark? Does it only happen when its hot or does it do it with the engine cold as well?
