i put a s&b cai on mine(sealed true cold air intake),volant makes a nice cai also,seems to of made a difference in power(by seat o pants meter)and 1-2mpg.

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

Thanks for the replies and the welcome! I was leaning towards a volant system but I came across a post somewhere that said volant was one of the worst for causing a lean condition. Has anyone experienced any problems with their cai?

Some of the 3V 5.4's ran lean from the factory, so it is strongly suggested that a custom tune is done at the time of a CAI.

VMP and 5-Star tuned no more

OK, without a custom tune. Which would be better, airaid or volant- thats what i've narrowed it down to.

Welcome to the site.
Even though you have narrowed down your choices, I had an AFE on mine with noticeable results.

I read on another forum that any cold air for the 3V 5.4 that does not alter the position of the MAF will help fight the lean issues. The example used there was the Volant.
