Climate Control Replacement

my climate controls for my heater and fan are both buttons rather than the much more efficient dials. It really irritates me to the point where I'd like to somehow put the dial version in.

Has anyone done this? I'm not sure which year they switched from the button to the dial however I know they have the dials in '08.

Any advice would be appreciated.

you must have eatc(auto temp control),you would require more than just the head unit from a manuel unit, like the heater box and wiring, might be best to find a donor truck or just live with it,but if working properly the eatc is more precice.

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

I'm guessing you have this:

Like Shelby said, you would have to completely replace the head unit and other heater components to make the dial style head unit work.

My buddy had an 06' FX4 and tried put a climate control unit from an 06' Lariat in it but switching the head units wasn't all he needed.

that's what I have

what a PITA

I like the way it works except for the stupid buttons. WTH were they thinking when they designed this junk? It takes like 30 secs to change temp from max to 20 degrees which is every time I get in after defrosting.

I know it sounds petty but c'mon.

so what you're saying is I would have to change from the "climate control" AKA EATC to the regular style heater control without the temp display?

crappy!

I wonder if I can somehow reprogram it to only have a few different temp selections...?

Right now the temp selections are (approximately from my memory) 16, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, 20, etc all the way to 28 then 32. It wouldn't be so bad if I could get 16, 18, 18.5, 19, 19.5, all the way to like 23 or 24 then skip to 32 degrees.

any suggestions on if this is possible and how to do it?
