5.4 fuel economy

I just completed a trip from Regina to Medicine Hat and back and I calculated my fuel economy for the 3 fill-ups I made.
776.4 kms / 481 miles and 33 Imp gals / 39.67 US gals
Thats works out to 14.57 MPG Imp / 8.23 US MPG
The truck is a 2007 S-crew 4X4 with 56,000 km's. The tires are 285/70/17's.
My wife and I took turns driving and we rarely went over 120 km/h. The air filter is new and it starts and runs very smoothly. Other than the tires it's stock. It was -27 when we started warmed up to -18 mid day and ended at -26 when we arrived home.
Is this normal for a 2007 F-150? I have co-workers with other brand full size trucks and they claim 20+ MPG hwy.

I think some of your math may be off. 481/39.67= 12.12 mpg. You also said your truck is stock? So your odometer has not been adjusted for the bigger tires? You have actually traveled MORE km than your odometer shows, so your mileage is actually better. The really cold weather, and more ethanol in the fuel isn't doing you any favors either. Just curious how many liters of fuel your burned? By my math 33x3.78=124.74. And 776.4/124.74=6.22km/L. If it makes you feel better, I'm getting about 5.5 right now. I personally don't think you have anything to worry about.

this last week my '09 was averaging 18.5-19.5MPG

with the colder weather prior to this last week. nothing over 16.5mpg with a programmer set to mileage.. and tested with 87 performance. also have winter tires. blizzak's

this is 90% highway 401. steady at 110ish. no cruise. so i was slowing on the uphills a bit and speeding back up on the way down.

I burned 150.2 liters of fuel to go 776.4 kms which in metric works out to 5.16 km/L. As far as I know the speedo wasn't altered for tire size. I bought the truck last year with 38,000 kms and the tires were just mounted. Would the tires make that much of a difference over stock? I realize a truck is not a commuter vehicle however the GM guys are claiming quite a bit more but their info might be from the summer which can make a big difference over -27.
The best I could do last summer was about 16-17 driving around 110-120 km/h.
I can live with that but I just thought I'd ask on this site to do a comparison.

15 mpg isn't terrible, 16 to 17 is typical, but if your tire size has been altered, don't expect your numbers to be accurate.

I never worry about fuel mileage for my trucks.... I figure if I wanted mileage I would have bought a Fiesta !!

If I drive 110 km/h, I'll average about 18 L/100km which equates to about 22 cents/km. I made a trip a few weeks ago - around 550 km or so and it cost me about $125 maybe $130 @ $1.10/L.

If I drive about 80 or so km/h, I'll average about 14-15L/100km.

I've got 305/65/18 BFGs and 3.55 gears. New coils, plugs and air filter.

I'm glad I like how my truck looks because at this rate it'll be doing alot of nothin much but sittin in my driveway lol.

My truck sits more than I drive it, so when I do drive it I'm never easy on it so my mileage probably sucks, I haven't checked it as I have the 4.6 and 4x4 and just put on 305/70/17 over the stockers that where on it which where 265/70/17
