Km's on used superduty.

Hey long time no see guys. I've got my eye on a new to me truck. It's a 2006 F250 ext cab 4x4 with 189,000kms they're asking $19,000. The km's is what has me a little hesitant. It is from texas, and has a fifth wheel. The body and interior are beautiful and it looks well maintained. My question....should i be cautious with the higher mileage? If I bought it I would be planning a bulletproof EGR cooler, and gauges. Would that be enough security?

Thanks in advance,
Josh

My first advice would be to get an Oasis report. Coolant filter would be a positive add on if you buy it.

i 2nd that.

also worth the $$ to have it looked at by an experianced ford diesel tech.

The 6.0's work great but are a time bomb they will all fail its just a matter of time (hate to say it)

Klm's hardly mean anything on a diesel motor wise but look at the front end and bearings.

If your going as far as an egr mod might aswell pull the cab and do it all at once

My time bomb has 340,000km on it no real issues.

If you take car of it it'll last.

The cancer spread through it faster than I could stop it. I almost had the box ready for paint then decided to stop sinking my money into the truck. Sadly it will probly go down to the scrap yard.

Gonna pick your brains some more. Does the instrument cluster keep track of the miles or kms. Or one of the computers. Basically can I swap in Canadian gauges and have the mileage also swap over. I'm leaning towards no, but it would be way to easy and convenient if I could.
