10 mpg? You drive it nice. My buddy's '99 4x4 gets 8 mpg heading up hunting (small camper trailer and usual gear, no ATVs). He's considering installing a 50 gal fuel tank just to get the range my Ranger does.. LR

Around 10-11 mpg empty hwy.

7-8 mpg city/off road .

4-8 mpg towing depending on load, speed, and wind.

Simply put, my '02 was a gas HOG.

I bought an 06, threw a set of 35s on it and hit the highway. I got 15.7 mpg. After 2 tanks I loaded a superchip in it and got 16.3 mpg. This is canadian gallons. This exceeded my expectations and was hand calculated. I put a 6" lift in it, loaded up my 8ft camper and it now runs 12mpg. It has 4.10 gears and an auto. I am happy.
