Looking at buying a 2005 ford f-250 and need some imput

Hey I am looking at this truck it is a 2005 ford f-250 fx4 that is lifted 6 inches and has 35" tires. It has the 6.0 and has 74,795kms on it and I am just wondering what I should be looking at when I am there. Is there anything in particular that I should look for on the engine?

Here is a link to the truck
http://listings.boostmotorgroup.com/...=0&RowNumber=1
Any suggestions would be great
Thanks Matt

nice looking truck

things i would watch out for, those chrome fender pieces like to make rust (in behind them) but your from BC so it may not be an issue... the trailer hitch looked spray painted... could be just to make it look better could be from heavy use.... drivers seat looks a bit squashed/worn like someone was in and out alot

i take it theres still factory warrenty ? that helps....

good looking truck

Hey thanks alot I am gonna take a look at it some time this week and try and look out for some of those things. As for the warrenty it has a 160km one and apparently a lifetime powertrain on it so that should be good I think. Also does that price seem about right?
Thanks Matt

Send a message via MSN to BMac
Get an oasis report done, check to see what kind of warrenty work if any was done on it, repairs etc.

????? lifetime powertrain warranty, you may want to get the dealer to run it through OASIS to verify warranty status, the most powertrain coverage i"ve seen is 300,000km.

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

Great looking Truck, love the colour On the '05 6.0L, the main issue was branch tubes falling off the HPOP. Alot of the other issues of the earlier 6.0L had been improved or illiminated by 05. You shoud get an OASIS report on the truck, and see if the HPOP tube has been fixed already, if not, it may still becoming at you and it will leave you high & dry when it happens.Warranty will cover it, it's just a pain when it happens. See if the truck has been sitting for long (like months), if so, the truck could have turbo issues from rust. The truck should have come with a 3year/36K full warranty. I believe the powertrain warranty on the 2005 is only 3/36K as well unless an extended warranty was purchased. The engine is 5/160K. There is currently a 5/300K engine warranty available (called "Diesel Care") to purchase directly from Ford ( a 13 basic or a total care). I would strongly recommend it if you plan on keeping the truck past 160K. Good Luck!!

That truck seems really cheap compared to the trucks on that link considering the kms that it has. Kinda makes me wonder if there is something really wrong with it as I found some other trucks that are pretty much the same truck but are $5000 more.

$5000 difference is not much IMO when your spending $30k and there are actually like four trucks there even a lifted black one. I would spend the extra money and get the 1 tonne with the newer engine and body style. Some of there trucks are up from the states so they may be cheaper bt 1 tonnes around here are a dime a dozen.
