2002 trans type and oil question

i have a 2002 f350 7.3 and am about to change the trans oil. i have been told it is a 4r100, but how can i tell for sure? what type of oil should i be using?... mercon or mercon v? ... and does the truck have a converter drain plug?

it is forsure a 4r100...mercon 5 is what ford is saying to now use I believe, and no drain plug

You can easily tell a 4R100/ E40D transmission by the word "METRIC" stamped on the bottom of the pan and on the factory door jamb decal under "trans" it will show a letter E there, also,, I cant remember the year that ford stopped putting the drain plug's in the torque converters
