Bad hubs???

Hello,i have a 2010 f-350 dually with manual locking hubs.I left hubs locked in the other day and drove a hundered miles or so .To day i hear a noise coming from the hub area that sounds like ball bearings loose in a hub cap.Leaving them locked in 2wd for this many miles would wreck them?I forgot to un lock them before i left my house.Would waranty cover this?Or should i just go bye some warn hubs? Thank`s

I'd take it back to Ford. You should be able to drive further than that without any damage, as long as you didn't have the transfer case locked in four wheel drive.

I've kept manual hubs locked for an entire winter and never had problems, take it in for some warranty work

As far as going to Warn hubs, if you have ESOF, you will loose this feature if you switch to them. Leaving hubs locked shoudl do no short term damage other than speeding up the wear process on front tires, joints, etc. And it would lower your fuel mileage. If the Tcase was staying locked in, you would know it on dry pavement, the truck would be almost undrivable. I seldom even use 4x4 when in town unless the roads are really bad.

Could be a bearing or something floating around in the bearing housing. Did you check to see if there is any rocks stuck in the brake rotor? Either way, It should definitely be a warranty job. That's a brand new truck.

If you heard the noise and then it was gone, could have been something as simple as dirt, stones, etc. in the wheel clinking around!
