Did they say why?

Edit: Nevermind. Found the article. It's a joke. "Worst safety rating"????? I'll put up my Superduty against pretty much anything and see who will remain 'safe'. Reminds me of a bumper sticker: "This truck has been in 6 accidents and hasn't lost one yet"

For a more reasonable take on that article look here.

2001 F350 CC SWB 6spd....currently getting a complete 'makeover'. Stay tuned.

Its based on 5 reports from people like consumer reports and such.

Basically they say don't buy it cause the price tag versus the re-sale value vs. the ease of maintenance etc. makes it a bad choice.

there are at least 4 gm vehicle on the list that rate worse than the F250 I believe the F250 is 6th worse. The dodge nitro is rated worse also.

we were talking at work as to why the Ford SD truck are consistantly ranked higher on lists of vehicles that need repairs ..... one reason we came up with is that they are one of most commonly stolen veh on the roads and as such are in the shop more often having repairs done to the ignition systems and such

The diesels have been a bit of an ongoing issue as well. I sure hope they figure things out and do it right with the new diesel.

Those Dodge Nitros (and most other of Chrysler's crap) are just terribly built. Cheap, easy to sell vehicles with crappy resale value... I can't believe their complete lack of build quality. LR

i did notice that is only the lariat model that they rate so low. My guess is all the added gizmos on the lariat make the sticker price too high and the re-sale is prolly similar to a lower end model.

When it is only the Lariat, then you know it is just some formula from collected data they use, not common sense. I am not going to defend Fords last 2 diesel attempts but that totally discredits the Forbes report in my mind.

Besides any of these "unbiased" reports usually have some "bias" by from whoever is paying the bills. If they can pay their bills off circulation of whatever medium they are using, and not advertising, etc., then I will pay attention.

Notice that "truck of the year" is always what ever is the newest on the market? It's all bull.
