Sick truck

Truck goes into the Dr's on monday..... hard start and misfiring isue is getting worse on cold starts so shes booked for monday.

Nice thing i didnt realise was engine warrenty guess i pay the $100 bones and they look after it....

asked the tech what he thought he says sounds like a programing issue so he will start with an update

did an oil change also and even though i have a brand new pail of rotella 15w40 here went with the 10w30 also changed the fuel filters again i now know at 10000klm intervals they dont need to be changed they were still clean looking

also got some cetane additive from ford going to add it to the next tank of fuel and after the visit to the Dr's

Warranty is nice to have on the diesel's for sure. Got about 5 g's of work at the 4 1/2 year mark and then when the warranty did run out, I put in an EGR delete kit to eliminate the dreaded cooler failure, which can cause head gasket failure...another 5 g's!

Good luck with your SD and let us know what happens too.

yeah its for the superduty's.... at least it says it on the bottle (all items were from ford)

just ran it a bit after the oilchange and it seems to run smoother right off the batt, the guy at the parts counter asked how i found out about the 10w30 oil said it wasnt realy knowen about yet to run it in the 6.0L's

and thanks "TO" the stacks lol i noticed this problem more you can really hear it in the exhaust

on a side not anyone know if the additive from Royal Purpal for your antifreeze (Purple Ice) is ok for diesels ?

make sure when they are finished reprogramming they don't close out the ro for a few days(or you will have to pay deductable again when you come back for injectors)

a moments silence for the shelbyx,i hope her new owner enjoys as much.

thats what im thinking.... so if i have same problem 10x i would still need to pay the $100 that 10x ? for the same issue ? that sucks.... if they do this then might aswell skip the dealer for anymore warrenty work and go aftermarket parts

on a side note this is 2nd fuel filter on the frame rail ive replaced first one was dirty but was a ford unit for all i know it could have been original, one i put in was different from one i took out.... both ford filters.... one i just put in the truck was different again from one i just took out and one from before that..... are they doing updates to the filters.... or is one a rayco one an international.... other one ? sort of wierd how there all ford filters and all different looking

i was planning to mod the truck with a programmer but held off because i know there bad for headgaskets and wanted extra $$ around for that huge job glad i did now, i'll also upgrade the egr to either the delete or the bulletproof kit.

Monday- Dealer started truck couldnt find the issue started it 3 different times morning noon and end of day. I get the info and they want it another day.

Tuesday- Previous day desk guy said the tech was in at 6am so i went in to the dealer on way to work, met him and did a start in the lot truck ran good first time, second time he plugged in computer scanned it while running then truck started acting up looks like #1 injector is sticking badly periodicly and i did notice the truck running ALOT better with the fresh 10w30 oilchange
so i left it with the mechanic he was going to call Ford because apparently there on a hate mode for replaceing injectors...

called in tonight and looks like injector was changed and there waiting on the fan hub..... guess mine was about to try and make itsway out from under the hood in a noticable way... lucky

will know tomarow forsure i hope thats if i dont end up working late to pick it up
